ITINERARY

Monday, June 22, 2026 — Arrival in Cincinnati

Your adventure begins with a seamless flight from Burlington, Vermont, already included in your package. By mid-afternoon, you’ll arrive in the heart of the Ohio River Valley—Cincinnati/Newport, Kentucky—where the air buzzes with Midwest charm. Stretch your legs as we explore the lively downtown: wander Fountain Square, browse Findlay Market’s colorful stalls, or stroll the scenic riverfront parks. This evening, join fellow travelers for an optional welcome dinner overlooking the Ohio River, a perfect chance to toast to the week ahead. Overnight in the Newport/Covington area.

Tuesday, June 23, 2026 — Newport & Cincinnati

Step back in time with a Gangster Tour of Newport, once nicknamed “Sin City” for its notorious speakeasies and mobsters. After a relaxed stroll and lunch along Monmouth Street, the day takes a refined turn with a tasting at Revival Vintage Spirits, where rare 50+ year-old bourbons are poured with reverence. Cross the river into Cincinnati to uncover powerful stories at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. As evening falls, board a majestic BB Riverboat for a dinner cruise—the skyline glittering, the music lively, the river carrying us into history and romance. Overnight in Newport/Covington.

Wednesday, June 24, 2026 — Ark Encounter & Bavarian Evening

After breakfast, we journey to Williamstown to witness the awe-inspiring Ark Encounter—a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark. Explore this massive wooden wonder before enjoying a hearty buffet lunch at Emzara’s. By afternoon, we’re off to Lexington, the heart of Bluegrass Country, where you’ll settle into your hotel. Tonight, we gather for a Bavarian-style feast at Hofbräuhaus, where German flavors and Kentucky hospitality pair perfectly.

Thursday, June 25, 2026 — Bluegrass Flex Day

Today offers a slower pace, beginning at the Mary Todd Lincoln House, where America’s First Lady once lived. The rest of the day is yours to design: perhaps sip your way through Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, discover Lexington’s vibrant murals, or browse boutique shops downtown. Dinner is on your own this evening—ample time to try a local favorite or relax at leisure.

Friday, June 26, 2026 — Horses, Heritage & Shakers

This day is pure Kentucky gold. We start at the renowned Kentucky Horse Park, celebrating equestrian excellence with a private buffet lunch and the US Olympic/Arabian horse showcase. Next, step into the prestigious world of Keeneland, famed for its sales pavilion and track. At Old Friends Farm, meet retired thoroughbreds, champions now living out their golden years. Then it’s on to the peaceful Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, where history whispers through simple wooden halls and rolling meadows. The evening wraps with dinner at a local favorite restaurant. Overnight in Lexington.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 — Louisville Icons & Churchill Downs

This morning, we transfer to Louisville to celebrate the city’s legends. At the Muhammad Ali Center, learn how “The Greatest” transcended boxing to become a global icon. Then it’s off to the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs—where exhibits, a short film, and a historic walking tour bring the “Run for the Roses” to life. Add a touch of glamour with Hatitude, a workshop where you design your own Derby hat, and learn the art of betting like a pro. As evening falls, experience live racing at Churchill Downs with dinner on the exclusive Millionaires Row—an unforgettable thrill. Overnight in Louisville.

Sunday, June 28, 2026 — Museums, Bourbon & Bardstown Show / Farewell

Louisville continues to impress with a morning visit to the Frazier History Museum, capped with a bourbon tasting. After lunch at a local gem, swing by the Louisville Slugger Museum, where you’ll tour the factory and take home your own 18-inch souvenir bat. Refreshed at the hotel, we head to Bardstown, the “Bourbon Capital of the World,” for an evening of Kentucky magic. At Maker’s Mark, experience the craftsmanship of fine bourbon before taking your seat for The Stephen Foster Story, an outdoor musical honoring the “Father of American Music.”

Later this evening, we return to Louisville for an overnight stay. The next morning, after breakfast, depart for home—bags full of souvenirs, hearts full of memories, and new friendships formed. Truly a Champlain Tours journey to remember.
